Frequently asked Questions
Q. How big is your laboratory?
A. Although the dental laboratory was a successful small 10 technician
laboratory at it's earliest conception designed to serve a wider dental
community, for the last 20 years the lab has downsized to serve a
select few of the areas highest quality dentists and currently works
with from 1 to 3 dentists. All quality control aspects of fabrication is handled
by Marc himself to assure the highest level of excellence.
Q. Do you do mail order work?
A. This is a touchy one to answer but the answer is definitely yes.
We have had long term success working with a few out of area
dentists but the caveat is that the impression supplied us must be
accurate to insure an accurate result, especially over long distances,
as you can imagine. With a dentist who can supply a consistently accurate
impression we will supply a consistently accurate restoration, period.
Q. What is your remake rate and what is your remake policy?
A. Because we have tailored our client list to the very best of the
best our remake rate is 0%. Hard as this is to believe, it is true. Our
post production involvement with a case, if any, is only to making
in office calls for our local clients for custom shade adjustments for complicated aesthetic
considerations. We owe this high degree of success to the quality of the dentists that we do work with and the advanced shade taking system we use.
Q. What does your dental laboratory do to assure it's excellence?
A. First we focus on communication. If we do not understand any aspect of the instructions we make sure to ask, we don't guess. An active and healthy communication process is key to eliminating lab generated mistakes. Next, if any impression discrepancies are present, our dentists are asked to personally examine poured models and finalize die trimming. All cases are fabricated with a two pour technique with the second pour non sectioned to establish contacts with to eliminate open contacts. Also the laboratory utilizes state of the art equipment and materials for accurate results. All aspects of fabrication are preformed using a stereo microscope to assure marginal accuracy.
